The University of Applied Sciences Albstadt-Sigmaringen offers bachelor and master programs with a very practical orientation. The areas cleanroom technology and pharmaceutical plant construction can be found at the Faculty of Life Sciences. Cleanroom technology is an integral part of all bachelor programs of the faculty. The bachelor program “Pharmaceutical Technology” with several practical courses in state-of-the-art pharmaceutical cleanrooms has a strong focus on GMP. In addition to the internalization of good manufacturing practice, students acquire Albstadt-Sigmaringen University Sigmaringen Campus comprehensive knowledge in pharmaceutical technology and manufacturing. The special requirements of pharmaceutical factory planning are taught in the master program “Facility and Process Design”, the first and so far only study course of its kind in Germany. Graduates of the master program “Facility and Process Design” and the bachelor program “Pharmaceutical Engineering” start their career in the pharmaceutical industry, but also in related branches, such as plant construction, cosmetics, medical technology and biotechnology. The preferred fields of action are quality management/ assurance, development, production, industrial engineering or factory and plant design.
All bachelor courses (7 semesters) include an industrial internship and the master programs cover 3 semesters. Usually, a bachelor or master thesis (3 respectively 6 months) is prepared in companies at home or abroad. The projects have a practical background and deal with application-related and scientific-technological issues. Theses on practical questions from companies are partly also implemented in the pharmaceutical technology center of the university.

Besides the placement of interns and graduates in interested companies, the university offers the possibility of transfer projects with appropriate professional advice and support. Lecturers and practitioners enrich many courses with their expertise and hands-on experience. In addition, numerous excursions intensify student contact with the industry.
